Colorado has recently made changes to their laws that will encourage more casino gambling.

The fiscal year ended on June 30th and the state is reporting that its share of the revenue was $94.9 million for the year. That figure is down from $108.17 million in 2008.

Observer Maury Gropes said: “In this economy people simply do not have extra cash laying around to spend gambling at a casino, hopefully the new laws will help revive the casino industry, and get the revenue figures back to what the state and the casinos are accustomed to.”.

Also the revenue decline in 2009 marks the second consecutive year that revenue tax money has declined in the state, also in 2008, it dropped almost four million from the previous year.

Also in Black Hawk, which has the most casinos in the state at eighteen, revenue fell 9.6%.

Ohio Casino : Casinos Brought To The State ?

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

The Politicians To Sign A New Ban

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

The politicians In Iowa have signed last year a smoking ban into a law through which they could protect workers against harmful smoking.

Now, the bar owners have lost their business because of the smoking ban. Smoking it not llegal now in bars or restaurants, beside casinos who shouldn’t have forbidden smoking.

The Grace Blashkin attendant affirmed that “I just still cannot understand how the state government felt that a smoking ban was needed to protect workers, but casino workers were not important enough to protect.”

Politicians have some different rules than the other bussiness. What their earn is stronger than any union. All the workers who take some jobs in casinos should pick their job so that they could work in a smoke-filled environment. From that moment, nothing depends on it. Even if players people complain about it,neither the government will listen them.

The observer Frank Hillman said that “It is not fair that casinos can allow the smoking and bars cannot.” If they don’t want to drop the ban, then they have to expand it to include casinos.

Flood Of New Hotel Rooms Dims Vegas Outlook For ‘10

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Las Vegas is known to have built more hotel rooms than can be filled and it still to build with every economic downturn even more constructions.

debt analysts at Deutsche Bank and CreditSights zeroed in on the impending flood of new hotel rooms on and near the Las Vegas Strip — a market struggling with an oversupply of rooms, slot machines and gaming tables.

“The challenge for the casinos will be to maintain hotel occupancy even as new supply is brought on over the next 14 months,” CreditSights said in its report.

Even without taking into account the 3,815 rooms at the stalled and bankrupt Fontainebleau resort, analysts say new rooms coming online at CityCenter and elsewhere will pressure the Las Vegas industry.

CreditSights noted that lower room rates are helping to fill Las Vegas hotels, but sales of condominium units on and near the Strip have come to a near standstill with 2,200 vacant units on the market.

The CreditSights analysts called it “remarkable” that Nevada gaming win dropped in April for the 16th consecutive month, considering the major additions to the market.

With the opening of Las Vegas Sands’ Palazzo and Steve Wynn’s Encore, “the old rubric that ’supply creates its own demand’ is clearly not relevant in today’s environment,” CreditSights said.

Still, CreditSights analysts Chris Snow and Frank Lee said they are encouraged by recent efforts by Strip leaders MGM Mirage and Harrah’s Entertainment to deal with their short-term debt and balance sheet issues.

Major gaming companies have successfully negotiated with lenders to fend off the immediate risk of default, the analysts said. Such an event could lead to Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection filings by giving lenders the right to demand repayment.

But they aren’t out of the woods yet. Both MGM Mirage and Harrah’s face a looming cash crunch in 2011, they said.

Although May gaming win numbers have not been released, it’s doubtful they showed much of an improvement considering the numbers issued for May last week by McCarran International Airport.

McCarran said the passenger count in and out of the nation’s gambling capital was about 3.5 million people, down 11.5 percent from May 2008 and 11.9 percent year-to-date.

Also this week, Deutsche Bank analyst Andrew Zarnett reiterated concerns about the new rooms coming online in Las Vegas. Overall, he said, they’ll reduce resort earnings and further stress owners’ balance sheets.

Even with the likely postponement of Fontainebleau, the Strip still won’t be able to fill new rooms that are coming online, Zarnett wrote. He cited “weak economic fundamentals and a diffident consumer.”

Deutsche Bank estimates the room count for the Strip market will grow about 15 percent, or 10,000 rooms, to 77,000 rooms over the next year.

This includes some 5,895 rooms at MGM Mirage’s CityCenter, 865 at the Hard Rock Hotel, 2,400 at the Planet Hollywood Westgate and 800 to 3,000 at the Cosmopolitan.

Strip gaming revenue and earnings before some expenses will decline by 15 percent and 30 percent respectively in 2009 even if the market begins to stabilize in the second half of this year, Zarnett said.

But the situation will worsen in 2010 with the opening of CityCenter in late 2009 and other resorts thereafter, he said.

One glimmer of hope is that CityCenter will drive added visitation to Las Vegas in 2010 — resulting in at least a slowing in the financial beating the Strip is taking, Zarnett wrote.

Casinos Gambling To Move Quickly

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

Ireland has the chance to become a possible EU member State while trying to adopt the regulation of online gambling and casino gambling.
Generally, it could happen in future if everything’s ok. As the Minister of Justice from Ireland says, this could be possible only when an agreement of a cross party could be reached.

But now, if 1956 Gaming and Lotteries Act are not in the move, all the casinos gambling are considered to be illegal. Nevertheless, all the private members who offer standard fares in casino gambling, games as roulette, blackjack or craps, are tolerated to do that.

As much as proponents who don’t like gambling, wanted all these clubs to be absolutely banished, Ahern thought the only solution for it is to regulate these establishments in a fairly way.

What exactly warrants “fair” will be in line with the next, the future legislation, which seems to be in works through a report which was prepared by the inter-departmental Casino Regulatory Committee(CRC) created by McDowell.
Aptly is now called the McDowell Report, and as most of people heard about it, it is possible that this document could recommend some strict legislative orientations for the reason to regulate all the mid-sized casinos.

New Electronic Blackjack Game

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

There is a new electronic multiple-player blackjack game that combines the newest technologies with a live table game. It could be played by using a video dealer on a screen. There is for the first time the problem.

At the beginning, your table minimum of 5 dollars seems unbelievable for the lunchbox flock while playing their favourite game.

It is known that all the payoffs are the same as the live games are. The most important thing is the intelligent way to go against a video dealer which also leads to the game’s speed.
Speed is also not good in a casino place. It kills the casino environment.
Casinos where you can play a live table game could offer games at a fraction of the live tables costs. These casinos could be even found where live games are illegal.

The more you play on a live blackjack game, the faster the machine can swallow your bankroll.

There are several basic strategies at the blackjack game. For example when the dealer shows you a 7, and you get a 16, you should stand. Even though all the charts show you to hit another hand, you just have to stay otherwise you will lose.

The Mensa Guide to Casino Gambling, Andrew Brisman affirmed this week that players find several strategies from old experts because they know how to play, with intelligence and art.

House Rejects Ban On Smoking In Bars, Casinos

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

The Louisiana House rejected a proposal to ban smoking in bars and gambling facilities.139_jh8_57-150x150

The vote was 71-29 against the bill.

The state has a law that prohibits smoking in restaurants, public places, public buildings and most places of employment. The proposal by Democratic Rep. Gary Smith would require bars, casinos, off-track betting facilities and other gambling spots also to become smoke-free.

Opponents say people can choose whether to work at a bar or casino and patrons can choose whether to frequent them.
