For the average player the word ìgamblingî means much more than a risky bet. It can stand for just about anything from vacationing, Las Vegas, and even fun. Devised earlier than 3000 years ago, gambling was well documented to have existed in many civilizations. The games we know today are the incarnations of former ones, with adjusted rules. For the length of time gambling was invented, players have always seemed obsessed with trying to use various gambling strategies for games. However, Casinos have always had the mathematical advantage along with an adamant need for stopping the smart player. It has forever become a vicious cycle of exploitive players vs. casinos catching up.

Today, gambling doesnít even need to be played at Las Vegas or any other casino chains.

Now for those of you who live under rocks or live in a time warp may say, ìWaitÖ.outside of Casinos?î

Well you seeÖ

1.	In-flight Gambling: Eflyte has been developing in-flight gaming and continues to spread its influence on many airlines. Currently they have the worldís first Multiplayer Poker Tournament along with over 60 games for airplanes. Ceo of Ryanair will also attempt use in-flight gaming by next year. Now casino gambling may be common on cruises, but itís a breakthrough for airlines.

2.	Mobile phones can also be used to buy lotteries and sports betting nowadays. If certain restrictions are lifted, it could even mean much more growth in its use.

3.	Internet Casinos are also another medium in which gambling doesnít seem to stop growing; despite being forced to open offshore from the US. This isnít necessarily bad of course.

The gambling industry is on a growing trend and it doesnít seem to stop anywhere in sight. Of course, this naturally means that more and more people will be hooked and continue losing to the casinos.

A soft-hand is an ace and any other card below the value of ten. This hand gets its name because the ace can be either one or eleven as necessary. The big advantage to a soft hand is that you can take hits with less risk of busing. But that doesn’t mean you can be carefree about how you play your hand. Take a look at the dealers’ showing card and play your cards as follows:

If you have an ace with an 8 or higher then hold your hand and don’t take a hit. By playing the ace as 11 you have 19, which is a hand you should always stand on.

If you have an ace with 7 take a hit if the dealer’s showing card is 9 or better.

If you have an ace with six or less then you should always take a bit. Even though this means you are taking a risky hit on 17 you can always bail yourself out if you bust by using the ace as a 1.

Doubling down is another situation you need to master if you want to win at Blackjack. Doubling down allows you to double you initial bet in certain circumstances. If played correctly you can offset the house advantage and that is an opportunity not to be missed! Bear in mind though that casinos have different rules as to when you can double down.

You should double down according to following rules:

If your have card values of 9 to 11 then double down. Statistically you have great chance to win because there are so many cards with a value of 10 to draw.
However, if you have a 9 then only double down if the dealer is showing a weak card of 3 to 6. This is because the dealer as likely to bust if he/she is showing any other card.
When holding a soft hand you should double down only when you can exploit a weak dealer card. The way to play an soft hand for doubling down is as follows;

If you have an ace with 8-9, just stand. This is a strong hand so don’t double down.
If you have an ace with 6.-7 then double down and take a hit if the dealer is showing a weak 3-6, and especially 4.-6.
If you have an ace with 4.-5 only double down if the dealer is holding a weak 4.-6.
If you have an ace with 2-3 then only double down if the dealer is showing a 5-6.

If you are looking to expand your knowledge of blackjack and improve your skills to the professional level then there are several steps you can take. When you learn how to play like a pro you can win more often and feel comfortable at the blackjack table. The first step in learning how to play blackjack like a pro is to familiarize yourself with all of the rules of the game.

One of the best ways to increase your chances of winning at blackjack is by learning about basic strategy. Basic strategy is based on the mathematics of the game of blackjack. Mathematicians, statisticians and computer simulations have tested and discovered the best move in any situation in a game of blackjack, based on the player’s cards and the dealer’s up card. Basic strategy changes slightly depending on the blackjack variation you are playing, as well as the number of decks in play. However, the strategy is still pretty much the same across the board.

Many blackjack pros are familiar with card counting as well. There are a number of card counting strategies, so try them out and find the one you feel most comfortable with. Beginning strategies for counting cards include Red Sevens, the Hi-Lo strategy, and Knock Out Blackjack. If you are up for learning more advanced strategies like the Omega II system or Wong Halves you can increase the accuracy of your count even further. Practice counting cards at home by shuffling a deck and then counting through the entire thing. If you end on 0 for balanced systems, or on the appropriate number of unbalanced systems, you know you are right on track.

Blackjack strategy can get pretty complicated the more you delve into it, but the basic theory is quite simple. Most blackjack strategies are based on a few simple facts. Some mathematicians, working with high-powered computers, have created the blackjack basic strategy. The blackjack basic strategy is expressed in a table. Your possible hands run along the side of the table; the dealer’s possible up cards are across the top. Where the two intersect, the blackjack basic strategy table tells you how to play your hand.

The blackjack basic strategy table looks like a complete mess that you couldn’t possibly learn or memorize. If you take a closer look, however, you will see that it actually makes sense and that it is based on the two fundamental principles of blackjack strategy. The game of blackjack comes in many shapes and sizes: Classic blackjack, European blackjack, Vegas Strip blackjack, and many more. The many variations on the game make blackjack interesting and exciting.

Blackjack online is played with anywhere from one to eight decks of cards. These are standard 52-card decks; there are no jokers. The 2 through 10 cards each have a value equal to their normal face value. Face cards as jacks, queens, and kings have a value of 10. An ace can be worth either 1 or 11, whichever is more advantageous. A hand with an ace valued at 11 is called a “soft hand”; thus, a hand comprising a 2, 4, and ace is a “soft 17.” A hand with an ace valued at 1 is a “hard hand”; a hand made up of 7, 9, and ace is a “hard 17.” Most blackjack variations — such as Classic blackjack, Atlantic City blackjack, and European blackjack — follow the rules described on this page. The differences are in the fine points of the particular blackjack game. Different blackjack games use different numbers of decks. Some blackjack games allow surrender or resplitting; others do not. Some blackjack games allow doubling down on any two cards; some only on certain combinations.

The blackjack games described above can all be called standard blackjack games, and they all follow some variation of the standard blackjack rules. But there are also some more unusual blackjack variations that have more unusual blackjack rules. In Double Exposure Blackjack, for example, both of the dealer’s cards are dealt face up. Blackjack is one of the most popular games in the online casino.

Blackjack is a card game with many betting options. One of them is called a double down. This is adding a bet equal to the initial stake after you receive your first pair of cards. When a player opts to double down, that player can only get one hit. If one wins with a double down, one receives twice the initial stake. Otherwise, one loses twice the bet.

A player who decides to double down will place a second bet beside the original wager. That player may then ask for a hit (only one is permitted) or not. After all the other players have made their respective moves, the dealer turns the hole card. If the dealer gets a 17 or higher, the dealer stands. Or else, the dealer draws another card. The players win if they beat the dealer or if the dealer busts, and lose their wagers otherwise.

So when is the best time to double down? This depends on your first two cards and the dealer’s up card. It’s advisable to double the bet when the dealer’s up card is any of the four, five or six numbered cards provided that your hand is strong with minimal risk that it’ll bust when hit.

If the dealer has a four, five, or six on the up card, chances are that the dealer will total near 16 after the hole card is turned. In this case, the dealer will have to hit. Under these circumstances, there’s a high probability that the dealer will bust or go over 21.

Poker tells exist both in the live games and in the online games. If you want to beef up your poker strategy, you will surely be interested in learning the common poker tells.

In a physical card room or in a casino, you will notice a poor player putting a hand over his mouth. Why? Because he is trying to conceal a smile (not a yawn). You can be sure that just as the sun rises in east, he is holding a strong hand. Another physical twitch is when the player reaches for a drink: his mouth is dry because he is nervous. A nervous player is relatively easy to lead.

If an opponent is trying to stare you down, he is trying to intimidate you. What is the reason behind this? Most likely, he is bluffing. If you have a strong hand, call. If you have a great hand and want more action, raise.

Observe the eyes of your opponent when the flop comes. If he takes a quick look at his chips, he probably has a strong hand. He is thinking of how much he will bet and win.

When you play online, will knowing poker tells be useful? Of course. Poker tells will differ slightly from player to player, but your online opponents are still humans. What you need to observe closely is the time or duration that an opponent spends during his turn or chance to bet.

In a limit game, when two flush or straight cards are out, and one of the players makes a quick call, this usually means a draw. On the flop, however, when one player makes an instantaneous raise, you can assume that he has a top pair.

When one of your opponents that you consider a poor player is taking time to think, he is actually debating whether to call or fold. This means that his hand is weak. Now if he took time (but not too long) to think and then raise, you can be sure that he is not bluffing. Poor players generally don’t bluff.

This is indeed great news that some people will welcome hearing. If you’re interested in trying online gambling because it’s the nearest thing to visiting a casino – something you can’t afford to do right now for some reason or another – and yet you’re unwilling to risk more than you can afford, look no more. Blackjack is indeed the game that you should learn to play!

The Game of Blackjack
In contrast to the many and often overlapping rules of poker, there’s nothing about blackjack that should confuse you. In blackjack, what you see is what you get and there’s no need at all to practice bluffing because all you have to worry about is beating the dealer’s cards and in this case, it should be the dealer who must be good at bluffing.

The objective of the game is clear cut and simple – your cards must be equal to 21 and the player with cards of this value or one nearest to it (your cards must never total over 21 or that means you lose the game) wins. The moment your cards go over 21, it means you’ve busted and you have to turn over your cards – and your money – to the dealer.

How Do You Know How Much Your Cards Are Worth?
Again, it’s quite easy to know the value of your cards in blackjack. The face cards are equal to ten while the ace may be seen as one or eleven. If, for example, you manage to get a queen and an ace, do count the ace as an eleven right away so that you’d reach the winning total of 21.

How Much Should You Bet
Okay, you might be sick of hearing the word “easy” from me but I’ll repeat it all the same, this time in connection with betting rules – it’s very easy to understand the betting rules of black jack.

Before the dealer starts dealing cards, you’re obligated to place your bet on the designated space in the table first. Secondly, you are given the choice to take insurance or not if and when the dealer shows an ace.

Knowledge of different poker playing styles should lead you to an adjustment of your poker game. Generally, some players you may want to attack right off the bat, others you may want to leave alone. Here are some of the different players‘ styles:

Loose
The loose player is someone you need to watch out for. They are characterized by their inexperience and usually play a lot of hands. Seemingly, the loose player is always in the thick of the poker game. Even with a poor hand, he will play until the very end of the game hoping to get some luck with his cards. If you play very aggressive with decent cards, exploiting a loose player shouldn’t be that difficult. Most likely, a loose player will likely reward your efforts.

Aggressive loose
An aggressive loose player raises the pot with nothing and bets no matter what card he has. He always calls bluff at every opportunity and is talkative and brimming with over-confidence. Don’t get egoistical around an aggressive-loose player. And don’t fall into the trap of playing his game and calling his bets just to expose the weakness of his game. When you have the cards to do so, attack them.

Tight
Compared to an aggressive player, a tight player folds at every hand and waits for pocket Aces. They can easily be lured by a bluff. However, when they see signs of intimidation, they fold. Be cautious, however, if they don’t fold.

Aggressive Tight
These type of players are extremely cocky. Until the aggressive tight player gets a good hand, he will opt to fold several times. When he plays his cards, he tends to play like a loose player. He has knowledge of how to get more money for his strong cards. Likewise, he knows how to take it easy and let the other players on the table do battle when his cards are not good enough. You might be in a bit of luck if you are successful in bluffing an aggressive-tight player into a hand. Don’t allow yourself to be played by an Aggressive Tight player.
