Europe’s online gambling companies should buck the economic downturn with around 10% growth in revenues this year.
Clive Hawkswood said to Reuters: “The online betting market is coping very well with the slowdown and is bucking the trend,”, “The main thing that we still have going for us is that our markets are still growing and our markets are very diverse.”,
“Projections from 12 months to 18 months ago are certainly not the same, but if you compare (them) to other industries, the online gambling industry can still expect to do very well,” Hawkswood said.
“I would expect to see growth for the industry of around 10 percent this year.”
Last month, Britain’s top two bookmakers Ladbrokes and William Hill both posted a rise in profits.

EU online poker and Internet gambling operators learned late February that the European Commission ended its formal investigation into the U.S. clampdown on EU gaming companies.
When the Commission’s report is released this month, it reportedly will conclude that the United States did violate global trade agreements by targeting EU online gaming companies for legal enforcement while allowing corresponding U.S. companies to operate freely in the US market upon passage of the 2006 Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.
EU online gambling operators ideally hope that the U.S. administration will either repeal the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

The bingo game is one of the most popular games in the world today. Most people are familiar with bingo games in town halls. Now there is a relatively new trend the online bingo game.
The modern day bingo game was originally a form of lottery. When Italy was united in 1530, the government instituted the Italian National Lottery.
One evening in December 1929, toy salesman Edwin S. Lowe stopped at a carnival a few miles outside Jacksonville. Everything was closed except for one booth. The booth was packed with people. Someone would draw numbers from a bag and read it aloud.
The players would all check their cards to see whether they got the number. The winner was the first person who filled a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row of numbers and yelled Beano. Then this game was called Beano.
Soon the bingo game was one of the most popular games in North America, and it remains so until today.
About ten years ago the online bingo game was developed. Within five years it became very popular.

The game of bingo has been played across the globe for centuries.
The lives of many people have been changed beyond recognition as a result of bingo. Charity bingo games which are played regularly all over the world are one of the most popular means of raising money for good causes. As a result of the many charity bingo games that have been played, a lot of money have been raised for people who really need the cash.
A charity bingo game functions in a similar way to a normal bingo game, with participants paying for their bingo tickets but instead of winning money, players stand the chance to win prizes, usually donated by local businesses or people within the community.
The money collected from admission and ticket sales benefits a charity of the organisers’ choice.
